we have the whole world watching what's going on in japan memories of chernobyl come up and have been repeated now or what is the effect for the rest of the world sub have been mentioning it's an issue of the winter carrying radiation of the seas being at contaminated what exactly is it impact the implication of such a disaster on the rest of the world. well hopefully first of all hopefully this disaster will be compared to chernobyl relatively we can hope for a relatively small scale disaster as i mentioned only one out of the six power reactors at fukushima daiichi seems to have exploded or not the reactor itself but the building around it probably due to the build up of high pressure steam yes of course depending on the prevailing winds and the and sea conditions that radiation will be carried elsewhere in the world and i i i don't want to. i'm speculating without having more facts but i would personally like to be cautiously optimistic that even the nature of this reactor given the fact that it is a light water boiling water reactor cooled by water. this radioactive material will.

about 19 hours ago, the earthquake struck japan. that set things into motion and before you knew it, that tsunami was hurdling its way across the pacific and then we began to see some of the buoys affected. we saw some waves about 6 feet in maui. by it continued on its track. we watched it and it made its way onshore, focusing, for the most part, in towards the santa cruz area. now, there's a special reason why that happened. we saw some funneling of that energy and all of that energy surging across the pacific, in some casings, in open water, can go as fast as 600 miles an hour. that's simply hauling across the pacific. you get all of that energy from the coastline, slamming up, being a -- being affected by the topography of the bottom of the coastline and as a results we had the surge right up in the harbor. the harbor is -- you get surges like this right through the area. a lot of folks watched this and they evacuated from their holes, which is fantastic -- homes, which is fantastic, there were waves that came along shore there.
